Hirudinea-db

The Hirudinea-db is derived from two EST libraries constructed in the laboratory of Dr. Bento Soares. One library was constructed from whole embryos at several developmental stages and the other from adult CNS cords. The clones represented in the database were sequenced by Genoscope, the University of Iowa sequencing facility and the Joint Genome Institute.

The approximately 133,000 sequences were clustered into 40,413 contigs by the Scripps Genome Center. The contigs were compared to NCBI's NR database and EBI's Swiss-Prot and TrEMBL databases using BLAST. The BLAST searches resulted in 2,450,986 annotations.

You can search the annotations based on a keyword, such as "actin", by using the Keyword Search.

If you are familiar with the SQL programming language and want greater flexibility in your search, use the Advanced Search.

You can compare your sequence to the ones in the database using the BLAST Against the Contigs.
